There are nights when you want comfort food… and then there are nights when you want comfort food that pretends it went to culinary school. This Bougie Pizza is my go‑to for those in‑between evenings — the ones where I’m craving something indulgent, a little dramatic, and absolutely effortless.

It’s the kind of recipe that feels like it belongs on a candlelit table with a glass of red wine but also comes together faster than it takes to scroll through takeout options. Sweet, salty, crunchy, peppery — it hits every note without asking much of you at all.

Let’s make something delicious.

Shawn’s Bougie Pizza

Ingredients

  • Flatbread (store‑bought or homemade) I use Stonefire® Authentic Artisan Flatbread
  • Fig spread (My favorite is Delallo Fig Spread)
  • 4-6 oz. Prosciutto, diced
  • Shaved parmesan cheese
  • Fresh arugula
  • Balsamic glaze to drizzle

How to Make Bougie Pizza

1. Toast the Flatbread

Preheat your oven to 450°F.
Spread a generous layer of fig spread over your flatbread — edge to edge, like you’re painting a masterpiece.
Bake for 5 minutes, just until the edges crisp and the fig becomes glossy and fragrant.

2. Crisp the Prosciutto

While the flatbread toasts, dice your prosciutto and fry it in a skillet.
You’re looking for golden, crunchy, and deeply aromatic — the kind of smell that makes everyone wander into the kitchen asking what you’re making.

3. Build the Layers

Pull your flatbread from the oven and scatter the crispy prosciutto over the warm fig base.
Add a snowfall of shaved parmesan, letting it melt slightly from the heat.

4. Finish with Freshness

Top with a handful of arugula, another sprinkle of parmesan (because why not), and a generous drizzle of balsamic glaze.

The combination is magic: sweet figs, salty prosciutto, peppery greens, and that tangy balsamic finish that ties everything together

Why This Recipe Works

  • Minimal effort, maximum drama
  • Perfect for hosting — it looks fancy without the fuss
  • Balances sweet, salty, and savory
  • A great “clean out the fridge” base — swap toppings as you like

It’s the kind of recipe that becomes a signature dish — the one friends request, the one you make on cozy snow days, the one that feels like a treat even when life is chaotic.

Serving Ideas

  • Slice into thin strips for an elevated appetizer
  • Pair with a simple arugula salad for a light dinner
  • Serve alongside a winter soup for a cozy New England moment

And that’s the magic of this little Bougie Pizza — simple ingredients, a few intentional steps, and suddenly you’ve created something that feels indulgent enough for a dinner party yet easy enough for a Tuesday night in. It’s the kind of recipe that reminds me why I love being in the kitchen on these New England evenings… the snow falling outside, the oven humming, the house smelling like figs, prosciutto and possibility.

If you make this one, I hope it finds its way into your own rituals — the cozy nights, the hosting moments, the “I deserve something delicious” days. Tag me if you try it; I love seeing what you’re creating in your element.

Until next time,
Stay warm, stay inspired, and keep making the everyday feel a little bit bougie,

xoxo ~ Shawn
